Need for speed

A Yahoo Search user could theoretically complete 15 queries in just 1 minute. That’s 900 queries in 1 hour. Every time a user completes a query, our data is shifting and changing.
This ever changing data can be hard to predict, especially when it is being directly impacted by world events. In a recent QBR, a partner compared their need for search data to their need for stock market insights. They pointed out that you wouldn’t blindly make an investment in the stock market without considering timely information and the same goes for making search optimizations.
We heard your request for faster data and we understood the significance of that request. Which is why we are excited to introduce our fast data feed. This is a new data feed intended to improve reliability and timeliness to help you make more accurate media-buying decisions.
This new feed cuts the delay in report delivery time by approximately 2 hours. Although we are sending you the data before final processing, this feed is 99% accurate compared to partner payout data, so there should almost never be any surprises on pay day. (Source: Internal Yahoo Data)
You can access the fast data feed via the Partner Insights API. Because this new API is independent from the current API, a data delay in the current feed does not necessarily mean a data delay in the fast data feed. For additional details please review our API user guide here.
This is one step closer to providing real time data. Until then, we hope you are as excited as we are about this elevated reporting. Here’s to more efficient optimizations!
